This course will enable the learners to understand the LTE key differentiators as well as the LTE radio principles, systems engineering. This is the 1st level training course, which will build the basics of LTE and LTE Advanced. What are the main network elements which constitute the LTE framework? What is new and what has been eradicated.
It offers a comprehensive overview of the basic functionality of the Evolved Packet System (EPS). EPS consists of the evolved Radio Access Network (E-UTRAN) and the evolved packet core (EPC) as defined in the 3GPP Release 8 standardization project ‘Long Term Evolution’ and ‘System Architecture Evolution. The course focuses on the network architecture, nodes and mode of operations of the Evolved Packet System (EPS). It accounts for EDPs relation to and interoperability with the legacy 2G/3G network as well as non-3GPP networks. The course covers key radio technologies selected for LTE (i.e. OFDM and MIMO). Basic message-level traffic cases are shown throughout the course to demonstrate important functions and concepts of LTE.
Pre-requisite for Participants:
The audience for this course is telecommunications personnel who need a strong background about the LTE air interface structure and mechanisms. It is a pre-requisite for the personnel in charge of the configuration, optimization and monitoring of a LTE network.
