UMTS Benchmarking and Performance Excellence
Course Duration
3-day instructor-led training with case studies
Course Objectives
The goal of “UMTS Benchmarking and Performance Excellence” is to present details and up-to-date information on the UMTS standard. The participants will become familiar with the features of the UMTS standard and why and how it evolved. The participants will learn about practical performance and deployment issues specific to the UMTS. They will have a first hand interaction with the KPIs and cluster and network optimization and benchmarking.
Course Overview
As UMTS-FDD proliferates worldwide, there’s growing demand for a good, strong course on the design and optimization of UMTS networks. We created this course to respond to that need.
In this course, you will build on your existing knowledge of the UMTS network architecture and operation by learning how to benchmark and optimize a radio network based on the FDD mode of UMTS. We will learn both the user and network equipment protocols. We will cover in detail the connection of the FDD RAN to the 3G core and IP networks. We will also study in depth the dimensioning and optimization of radio network parameters. All in all, the course will help you design UMTS-FDD networks that provide optimum performance for broadband wireless services while also being cost effective.
Key Benefits
The participants will gain a detailed end-to-end knowledge of the UMTS technology, its benefits and potential pitfalls.
Pre-Requisites for Participants
A basic knowledge of GSM/CDMA and UMTS, IP and data communication technology will be required.
Who Should Attend?
For Technicians, engineers and managers responsible for planning, design, optimization, and operation of UMTS networks and indoor design services.
