Starting his career as a GSM system engineer with Philips Kommunikations Industrie AG, Germany (acquired by Lucent Technologies) he was involved in GSM BSS integration in many European countries. At the time when GSM became the world's leading standard for Mobile Communication Systems, he realized the importance of deeply understanding signaling protocols like SS7/C7, GSM call handling procedures and various GSM system parameters. Working with protocol analyzers like HP37900D, K1103 and MA-10, he was able to monitor and analyse virtually every SS7/C7 layer/application - MAP, TCAP, SCCP, INAP, ISUP, MTP, BSSAP.

Moving to Asia in 1995 he had played a leading role as Technical Manager on a project for Lucent Technologies to implement two GSM networks for the customer in Brunei Darussalam. In 1999 Lucent Technologies employed him as Technical Consultant to support GSM network operations for both BSS and OMC. During that time he implemented "Training-on-the-job" program for the customer and the development and implementation of network monitoring / analysis procedures and tools as a basis for preventive maintenance.

As a member of Lucent's "BSS Network Optimisation Working Group" he worked on the definition of KPI’s and standards to evaluate network performance in order to achieve total customer satisfaction. He had devoted substantial part of his career to network operator's requests for trainings and workshops on network optimization topics, he spent extensive time working on GSM network parameters and procedures, influencing the radio interface performance.

He has worked extensively with Lucent Technologies Malaysia as Technical Director to lead GSM system performance audits, the MSC / HLR performance analysis and the preparation of the GPRS implementation into the existing network. To be in line with the latest technology development, he acquired knowledge on mobile application development using WAP, WML and JavaScript.

For his outstanding performance, he received Certificates of Awards and Diplomas from GSM key players like NOKIA, Ericsson, Lucent Technologies and many other companies.
